The Power of Love

The Power of Love

Listening to Jennifer Rush singing the “Power of Love” makes me realize how fortunate I am to be able to listen and appreciate
such lovely words.

The words of the second verse are particularly lovely.

“I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake”

What wonderful and inspiring words.

Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”

(The above from: Neil Gaiman quotes (English born American Novelist, Journalist, Screenwriter, Children’s author and Comics writer of American Gods, amongst many others, b.1960).

“No man is worth your tears, but once you find one that is, he won’t make you cry”

“Love is when you shed a tear and still want him, it’s when he ignores you and you still love him, it’s when he loves another girl but you still smile and say I’m happy for you, when all you really do is cry.”

Do not underestimate the power of love.

“Love is as critical for your mind and body as oxygen. It’s not negotiable. The more connected you are, the healthier you will be both physically and emotionally. The less connected you are, the more you are at risk.”

No matter how good or close you are, and if the relationship is going right those differences surface. The issue then is to identify the differences and negotiate them so that they don’t distance you, or kill the relationship.

3 Little Words that mean so very much, It can save a relationship, and keep us from drifting apart.
I love you;
I am sorry;

This is what makes love so powerful and important in our lives.
The Power of love.

Let love guide you and keep you healthy.
